discretely disguised....

refrigerator
Old fencing was used for the Sub-Zero panels and cabinetry in this cottage kitchen.
The handles are made from galvanized pipe, which echoes the galvanized metal shelves and counters.
Some would say too shabby, others country chic.

 washer and dryer
The lady of this house wanted a washer and dryer in her bedroom.
The lower pair of doors featuring chalkboard inserts are new, but painted to resemble the vintage piece on top.
Notice the numbers on each of the fabric gathered doors – a nice touch.

details, details, details.

newest love affair: chicken wire and new ravenna tile.
first of all can i just point out what is going on in this picture...
that cabinet is to die for. the chicken wire adds so much character.
not to mention...mason jars, woven baskets, wine bottles oh my!
i love the organization of it all.
and the floor...oh the floor!

top left: i love the pattern of this floor, and the worn feel of the cabinets. so perfect.
top right: a blue piece in a bathroom...lovely. more chicken wire! perfect for toiletries.
bottom left: the perfect backsplash. are we in agreement that new ravenna tile is awesome? good.
bottom right: this is neither chicken wire, nor new ravenna...but i love the detailing. the raw wood, the dishes, the tile. yes! yes! yes!

home sweet home.

what a week! there is nothing i love more than being home with my family.
it was so relaxing, so fun, so full of love.
it was truly reminder of all of the things in my life i am thankful for.
sometimes i feel like it is so easy to get caught up in what other people think and compare our lives to others, when what we have been given is more than sufficient. thank you, Jesus, for your love, your mercy, and the many undeserved blessings you shower on us!
hanging out:

my sweet mom and my grandmother! she looks wonderful for 83 right?

blessed beyond belief with these 2 for siblings!

a girl couldn't ask for better friends.

thankful, thankful, thankful for this past week!

thanksgiving

for thanksgiving mom and i decided to decorate the table differently this year.
instead of going with the traditional yellow, orange, and red color scheme we
decided to have a white and gold thanksgiving. it was still very fall-ish, and
absolutely beautiful!

we used this as inspiration:

for place settings we bought white pumpkins and attached name cards with floral wire.

we used this for the flower arrangement. by the time we got around to going
to the grocery store most of their flowers were out so we were limited with choices.
we decided to go with white hydrangeas and white daisies. i wasn't sure how the daisies
would look but it turned out well i think!

the table all put together:

hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving!
"in everything give thanks, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

tuesday's thoughts....WALL PAPER!

this morning i walked into my bathroom and had the sudden urge to paint it....pink. but not like pepto pink, or some ugly color pink...like a salmon pink. ridiculous right? and then i thought it would probably be better to do wall paper. but everybody knows wall paper + hot steamy showers just DO NOT mix (and if you didn't before, now you do). but then i started thinking about wall paper...(do yall love walking through my morning thought process yet? welcome to inside my head)...and how much i love wall paper. it kind of reminds me of scrap book paper, and i looooove to scrap book. the different patterns, designs, colors, hues, and textures are literally endless. and while it may make it a pain in the rear end to make a decision, it is SO FUN looking through binders of wall paper (am i the only one? do yall think i'm crazy yet?)  these are some of my favorite wall papers thus far. from living rooms, to dining rooms, to closests, to guest bathrooms, each paper brings glorious fun and beauty to each one. hope you like them as much as i do!
